We are pleased to offer for sale one of our latest projects. This 1964 1/2 v8 auto Mustang convertible with very early power steering as can be seen in the images.
She has been off the road for some 35 years and therefore will need some work to recommission her.
The body as can be seen needs wings, doors, and quarters replaced but the front and rear frame rails are solid with only a small repair required to the driver’s side rear rail.
The floor would require panels to be replaced or fit a complete floor for time-saving.
The soft top will also need to be recovered but the mechanism is in great condition.
This car has not been messed about with and is in its original color of raven black with cream upholstery – all original.
Under the hood, we have replaced the water pump and fitted new spark plugs, and changed the oil. She does start and the engine runs but we have not tried to get her to drive.
As those of you in the know will confirm any 64 1/2 is worth more than a 65-66. Made from April 64 to August 64 and she is a genuine 64 1/2.
Restored 64 1/2 v8 convertibles are now realising £45,000 so at our asking price she is most certainly worth restoration.
To help get you started we are supplying a full set of new convertible seat trim and the inner sills that may or may not be required free of charge. The cost of these two items would be £1,000 if purchased separately.
The car comes fully registered with a UK V5C document.
