We are pleased to offer one of our latest projects – this 1965 Mustang V8 auto was found by our buyers in Texas and had been in an old gentleman’s garage since 1989 – yes, 32 years.
It had been put there to do some minor repairs but the old gent never got around to do them. She was purchased from the family due to the old gent’s passing.
When she arrived in the UK she had no brakes, the gas tank was full of old petrol that had turned to sludge, the fuel lines blocked and the fuel pump inoperative.
We have replaced the gas tank, fitted and new fuel pump, and rebuilt the carburetor. We have also replaced all the brake slave cylinders, front flex hoses and fitted a new dual master cylinder.
The automatic gearbox was drained and refilled with fresh auto fluid. New bumpers and grill have been fitted to the front and a new bumper also fitted to the rear .
The hood and trunk lid had hailstone damage so these have been replaced with new items.
So most of the recommissioning has been done. She now starts runs drives and stops. The body is in good all-round condition as is the glass. The chrome bumpers and grille are new as said.
The engine is in good condition with 45psi oil pressure at tick over. The interior is in good usable condition. She does still need some more work – this being a small repair to the front lower inner frame rail about 1″x2″. Also, the rear frame rails at the very rear end and the drop-offs in the trunk at the lower edges.
Overall this is a light resto or use as is and improve as you go.
The car comes fully registered with a UK V5C document.
