Okay, so is this a project or not? Well, we are selling as a project and at project money
When she arrived from Kansas we looked her over and found the floors and all the underside to be in a great unrestored condition – the only work she had done was the replacement of the inner sills or as our colonial cousins call them inner rocker panels – the rest of the car was rock solid.
She needed a repaint, a new carpet, and some new chrome. All of this was carried out we then also detailed the engine bay and the underside was given a new coating of rubberized underseal and were also detailed.
Ok, let’s give the details on her. She is a 1966 V8 auto with 4 barrel carburetor with factory power steering and a power soft top finished in cream.
The body has been refinished in the latest Ford Race Red – being three coats of high solid gloss and then given two coats of clear coat just as the top-end restoration companies in the US.
The interior has also been refinished in race red but in a satin finish just as it was back in 1966. The original pony trim was cleaned and a new red carpet fitted along with new red seat belts and a set of black over-mats.
New exterior door handles, badges and bumpers were then fitted and as previously mentioned the engine bay was detailed fitting new rocker covers and new chrome air cleaner.
She starts right up from cold and drops into gear just as she should, pulls well, and stops just fine.
So is she a project? Well, yes there are a few items that need to be finished off – the rear backup lights need wiring, the horn is not working and the radio needs a new aerial but that’s about it.
So she is being sold not for £50,000, not for £45,000 or £35,000 – there are three cars on eBay as we advertise her for the price mentioned. We are offering her for almost half the price of most 1965-67 convertibles at £25,950 ONO.
The car comes fully registered with a UK V5C document.
