We are pleased to offer for sale one of our latest projects. She is a 1966 V8 auto finished in blue-grey with black Shelby stripes.
The body is in great condition all around – there does not appear to be any filler in any of the panels including the boot and bonnet which has the Shelby hood scoop fitted.
Wheel arches are all good both back and front. The underside is also in good condition with no rust visible anywhere. All frame rails both back and front are in great condition.
She starts right up, runs drives, shifts gear, and stops. The outside is finished off with a set of magnum 500 wheels and tires.
Chrome work is in a usable condition but you may wish to replace it if taking her to the next level. There are small bubbles where the roof joins the quarter panel this is at the factory seam – this happens on a lot of early Mustangs because back in the day, lead was used to finish the join. Over time this detaches from the metal and causes this bubbling. This needs to be removed and refinished.
The interior is usable but in our opinion would benefit from new seat covers, dash pad, door cards, carpet, and headliner.
The exhaust, although not leaking, should once again in our opinion be replaced as the baffles in the mufflers have collapsed.
The engine bay is in great condition as can be seen in our walk-around video.
We have fitted new plugs, points, and condenser. We have also changed the engine oil and fitted a new oil filter. We could not find any water or oil leaks anywhere in the engine bay.
So this is a very light project and with Mustang prices going through the roof and the pound falling off a cliff this must be one of the best value-for-money Mustangs for sale.
The car comes fully registered with a UK V5C document.
All sensible offers are considered.
