1967 Blue V8 Auto Mustang PROJECT

1967 Ford Mustang V8 automatic project with power steering, finished in blue and recently removed from long-term dry storage.

This Mustang has spent the last 18 years in a barn in the UK. The previous owner bought the car for use as his wedding car, which it later became. After the wedding, he placed it into dry storage for safekeeping, where it remained until recently.

We have now obtained the car and carried out initial recommissioning work. This has included fitting a new carburettor, installing a new fuel filter, replacing the spark plugs and cleaning the ignition points. As a result, the V8 engine now starts straight from cold and settles into a clean idle.

The car is fitted with an automatic transmission and power steering. This specification gives it a more usable road character once the remaining recommissioning work has been completed. It should also appeal to buyers who want a first-generation Mustang project without taking on a major structural rebuild.

The interior remains in very usable condition. The dash pad presents well, while the gauges and dashboard area are also in good order. Overall, the cabin appears complete, honest and suitable for continued use rather than full replacement.

As expected after 18 years in storage, the exterior now needs attention. The paintwork would benefit from a respray, although the car could be improved gradually if preferred. It is best viewed as a usable restoration project, rather than a freshly prepared example.

The front brakes were seized after the long storage period. These have been freed off, but the inspection showed that the front brake shoes and wheel cylinders require replacement. Therefore, the braking system should be properly serviced before regular road use.

The underside is a major positive. Because the car has been stored indoors in dry conditions, the floor appears very solid. We have not seen visible rust in the floor area, which gives this Mustang a strong starting point for recommissioning.

Overall, this 1967 Mustang is a straightforward V8 automatic project with good fundamentals. It needs exterior cosmetic improvement and brake work, but it does not appear to require extensive structural repairs. For an enthusiast wanting a classic Mustang to return to the road and improve over time, it offers a practical and sensible base.

The car comes fully registered with a UK V5C document.

All sensible offers are considered.
