We are pleased to offer for sale this 1968 Californian Ford Mustang project.
We normally say with cars in this condition “one of our very light projects” but she is the nicest project we have had in 3 years.
Yes, she is a genuine R-code car made in the San Jose plant in California. V8 auto finished in Meadowlark Yellow with the very rare bench seat.
The interior is finished in black that is in great condition apart from a small tear in the driver’s bolster.
When this car arrived we could not believe how good she was – the mileage shown is 77,000 miles and we believe this to be the original mileage
She was in such good condition we decided to give her some love, so we have refinished the paint in the original Meadowlark Yellow, fitted all new chrome work and new emblem kit so from outside she now looks as good as the day she rolled out of the San Jose plant in 1968.
We then moved under the hood and refinished and redressed the engine bay. In the trunk (boot) all looks original with factory jack and wheel brace and original stickers on the underside of the boot lid.
She is a factory V8 auto fitted with power steering and twin master cylinder power brakes.
Wheels and tires are periods correct with almost new wheel trim (sorry got a bit muddy in the photoshoot).
So the big question you all want to know is there any rust? Well, we could not find any anywhere – back and front frame rails are great, floor pans are also great and original, doors all original, fenders all original. Also, the hood and trunk lid are all original and the glass all looks to be factory also.
So why is she a project?
Okay, she needs a pair of wiper blades, new lenses on the dash clocks (new ones are in the glove box), a new plastic hand brake handle (new one in the glove box), an interior mirror (guess what in the glove box ), driver door does not lock – needs new door catch (not in the glove box) oh and a small repair to the driver seat should you wish – that’s it.
We are offering at a very reasonable asking price.
The car comes fully registered with a UK V5C document.
All sensible offers are considered.
