The car has power steering
All panel work is authentic and correct to the Shelby Design of 1968. The motor is a fully rebuilt 302 with a 4V carburetor and Electronic Ignition. The engine is connected to the iconic T10 4 Speed Top Loader with a 9-inch rear end.
She even has the almost impossible to find Shelby roll bar and the very expensive genuine Shelby center console. The car is also fitted with an electric soft top.
The rear end is also period correct using Shelby parts with the flip-up trunk lid and flip up rear quarter Panel extensions, finished off with Shelby taillights and Shelby style exhaust.
On the road, the car drives and brakes as it would have done back in 1968 as it left the factory – benefiting from power steering and power brakes.
We have a full folder of invoices for parts purchased during its rebuild to the value exceeding £15,000. We also have a letter from the original importer in Ireland who was the restorer. This letter was written to the next owner upon her purchase of the vehicle, stating that the vehicle had a full nut-and-bolt restoration including sandblasting of the shell – which we have photos of.
Genuine KR500’s are now fetching $200-300,000 and we have seen recreations/tributes nearing $100,000. This is a must see Mustang Shelby KR500 Tribute which we feel is a real bargain, you could not build this car for the price we are asking.
