2014 is the Fiftieth anniversary of the iconic Mustang and nothing congers up the feel of the early sixties like a 1964/65 Mustang Fastback. Released along side its sibling sister the Mustang Coupe, it was way ahead of its time in term of design and styling, therefore as you would expect, good examples of the early car are now fetching a premium, and are sure to rise in 2014 – the Golden Anniversary year.
We are offering on behalf of one of our long standing customers a car from his private collection. She is a 1964 built genuine V8 289 auto fastback.
We imported her on our customers behalf. On arrival she was striped down to a rolling shell, both floor pans have been replaced along with the complete trunk floor. All bodywork was realigned and she was then repainted in high build 2K bright red.
On arrival the interior trim was red this was striped out and replaced with all new black interior. The trim was fine before, however our customer just wanted black to compliment the new interior a Shelby style steering wheel and B&M shifter fitted. All new windshield mouldings and rubbers were fitted. New chrome bumpers, handles mirrors and badges were then fitted to the exterior
The engine was fitted with a 4V upgraded Edelbrock carburettor and performer inlet. An electric fan was also fitted and the stock item removed. Monty Carlo bar and export brace were next to dress the bay. The steering has been replaced with a complete new set up of power steering steering box by Borgeson USA.
The front brakes were also upgraded to 4 pot discs from SSBC USA. She sits on Torque Thrust D alloys with good rubber all round. The rear 8″ axle has been fitted with race proven locker to help traction.
We have to hand an invoice folder for thousands of pounds spent on work and upgrades. This has been a no money spared refurbishment now offered for sale at a fraction of the build cost.
